What are the Different Projection Screen Shape Options? Aspect ratio is defined as width to height (W:H). The options are as follows:
* 1:1 – Square is often used for presenting data.
* 4:3 – Standard Definition (also called NTSC or Academy) is based on the original television and computer monitor aspect ratios and is less used now, but still available.
* 16:9 (or 1.78:1) – High Definition (also known as HDTV or widescreen) is the new standard aspect ratio in the US and is the native ratio for all HD projectors.
* 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 – Both ratios are called “CinemaScope.” These aspect ratios are designed specifically for cinema requirements.
What Other Screen Options Should Be Considered? Projection screens are either fixed or retractable.
