SmartSource® Computer & Audio Visual Rentals (“SmartSource,” Hauppauge, NY, www.smartsourcerentals.com), one of the nation’s leading providers of computer, audio visual (AV) and technology solutions for businesses and events, recently demonstrated its big heart by providing audio visual and information technology equipment, along with technical operations support, for the March 6th, 2019 Riley’s Way Biennial BBQ Blowout. The fundraiser, which the company has supported in previous years, was held at Hill Country Barbecue, 30 West 26th Street, New York, NY. The funds raised from the event will go to support Riley’s Way Foundation in honoring Riley, a kind, happy and warm-hearted young girl with an extraordinarily generous spirit, who passed away suddenly at the age of nine. Riley’s Way strives to instill her kindness, caring, compassion and empathy in other children. Their mission is to empower young leaders to use kindness and empathy to create meaningful connections and positive change. To date, Riley’s Way has worked with over 1,000 students and teachers.

In addition to being the daughter of Mackenzie and Ian Sandler, a member of the SmartSource Board of Directors, Riley was the granddaughter of SmartSource founder, the late Julian Sandler and his wife, Nina. SmartSource and others who support Riley’s Way Foundation help the organization to provide its vital offerings. They include the Riley’s Way Councils, which connect students from public and private high schools to give them the opportunity to work together on kindness projects in their communities, and Riley’s Way’s first national initiative, the Call for Kindness, where they will provide six “Kindness Fellows” with a $3,000 prize to design and implement a project that embodies Riley’s Way values in their communities.

At the recent Riley’s Way Biennial BBQ Blowout, guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of delicious food, drinks, live music, and an exciting silent auction.

About Riley’s Way Foundation

Riley’s Way Foundation empowers young leaders to use kindness and empathy to create meaningful connections and positive change through their councils, programming, and events. By equipping teens, students, and young adults with life tools, they are building a network of leaders who view kindness and empathy as strengths to drive change, create connections, communicate ideas, and develop projects, and make a difference in their communities.

A powerful memory of love and empathy is their foundation. Riley’s Way Foundation was established by Mackenzie & Ian Sandler in 2014 to honor the life of their nine-year-old daughter Riley Hannah Sandler. They honor Riley’s spirit and love of life by helping young leaders to use kindness and empathy to drive change and create connections in their communities, building a better world.
