SmartSource recently hosted its first online SmartSession titled “Demystifying Virtual Events,” which provided practical strategies for optimizing virtual/hybrid events. Leveraging its vast event and IT experience, SmartSource provided a comprehensive overview covering everything from required internet connections and how to facilitate participant networking and interaction, to considerations relating to virtual productions, live vs. pre-recorded programs, and troubleshooting video platform problems.

The webinar was led by SmartSource’s Manager of Solutions Architects who spoke to a group of more than 1,000 registered participants. The webinar started with an explanation of the various applications for virtual events including conferences, training seminars, education, sales presentations, board meetings, product launches, legal proceedings, religious services and political campaigns, and progressed into some of the technical requirements needed for a high-quality virtual event.

One segment of the SmartSource® “Demystifying Virtual Events” webinar which was particularly well-received discussed how to optimize presentations. Practical tips were offered regarding how to help presenters look good and how to ensure proper internet, audio and video performance; effective lighting, camera angles and backgrounds; and the value in scheduling presenter training and rehearsals.

According to Craig Sukenic, SmartSource’s VP Sales, “We were very pleased with the feedback we received from participants who took our post-event survey. Many people told us they learned something new and appreciated that the webinar was not a sales pitch. Our second SmartSession promises to be even more informative with the participation of four industry leaders as panelists.”
